INTRODUCTION TO PYTHON PROGRAMMING (Lawson only)
Entering grades eight to 10 – This class serves as both a beginner’s introduction to Python programming and a skills-development workshop for intermediate students. Topics include using variables, nested conditionals, defining new object classes, interactive applications with buttons, animation, and creating an interactive game. Class sessions include time to work on the programs with help from the instructor. Some homework time may be required to complete the lessons. Students should bring a USB drive to take their class work home. The software and lessons can also be downloaded for use at home.
