INTRODUCTION TO PYTHON PROGRAMMING
Entering grades six to eight – This class is a beginner’s introduction to Python programming. Programming concepts and techniques are introduced and practiced through a series of interactive applications. Topics include using variables, nested conditionals, defining new object classes, interactive applications with buttons, animation, and creating a simple interactive game. Class sessions include time to work on the programs with help from the instructor. Some homework time may be required to complete the lessons. Students should bring a USB drive to take their class work home. The software and lessons can also be downloaded for use at home.
