PUBLIC SPEAKING
Entering grades eight to 10 – Students will learn the skills and techniques required for public speaking: communication skills, eye contact, voice projections, body contact and listening as well as evaluation techniques. Students will practice presenting various types of speeches. Development of self-confidence and poise will be an integral part of this class. Because this course is designed for older students, students will encounter more topics and more frequent critiques than in the sixth- and seventh-grade course at a more rapid pace.
