Sixth-Grade Math Overview: Rates, Ratios, Fractions and Problem-Solving
Entering sixth grade – This course curriculum is aligned to Common Core State Standards for Mathematics and is recommended for students entering sixth-grade mathematics.  Students will apply their knowledge of multiplication and division to solve ratio and rate problems. They will extend their knowledge of fractions and be able to explain how dividing and multiplying fractions follows logical mathematical processes in their own words. In addition, problem-solving strategies will be utilized as students deepen their understanding of rational numbers, absolute value, expressions and equations.
