Introduction to High School GEOMETRY & SPATIAL SENSE
Entering grades eight to 10 – Recommended Prerequisite: Students are enrolled in Geometry during the 2017-18 school year. This course will introduce students to Euclidean geometry and assist students in the understanding of two- and three-dimensional space. Students will develop important basic geometry skills and explore various proofs through logical deduction. The instructional program will include hands-on explorations of geometric transformations, similar and congruent polygons, area and volume of solids, 2-D and 3-D polygons and polyhedra as well as the Pythagorean theorem. Because this course is designed for older students, students will encounter more topics than in the seventh- and eighth-grade course at a more rapid pace. Includes book.
