« back to classes page
Learn your way around our beautiful night sky. Make sense of the phases of the moon, identify planets, stars and constellations. Get a feel for the "big picture" of the universe that surrounds us. Learn what's new in astronomy and how we've come to know what we know. What are the big questions still before us?

This very popular, non-technical class is held in De Anza College's Fujitsu Planetarium, and is taught by recently-retired planetarium director, Karl von Ahnen. All the resources of this high-tech facility will be put to use as you are guided through the wonders of the night sky.  Travel among the stars and talk about all things astronomical while gazing into the spectacular planetarium sky.
